Live Out Loud Charity Fashion show 2019
In September of 2019 I had the amazing opportunity to participate in a charity fashion show during New York Fashion Week and on World Suicide Awareness Day. I couldn't physically be there because I had just had a baby on Sept 4th and had just returned home from the hospital on the 7th. When I was invited to be a part of their 10th anniversary show in Chicago, IL, I of course said yes. I made a few changes to some of the designs, packed up the baby and flew out.
The Live Out Loud Charity is an amazing organization that focuses on suicide prevention, awareness and on stopping bullying. It's ambassadors have prevented thousands of suicides and work within their communities to end bullying and help those in a dark place in their lives.
Being able to bring Menhera fashion to not one but 2 stages (one during NYFW) meant so much to me as a plus size designer and someone that deals with mental health issues. It also meant a lot that I got to walk the runway with my Sister who wore the design that meant the most to me and introduced me to the Live Out Loud organization
